I read 20 books between April and March 2023! Here they are in ranked order, starting with my favorites!
A quick rundown of my 4 favorites:
My fave celeb, Paris Hilton, dropped her memoir in March and I was skeptical- I wasn't sure that I, a superfan, had much to learn, but this book delivered! Paris references events and scenarios you can google or watch on other platforms, rather than rehashing certain experiences that are part of the pop culture zeitgeist. Paris fully exposes her journey through the troubled teen industry, and I think if more people knew about this, they'd give her more credit, especially paired with her current political activities to prevent this from happening to other children moving forward. I think anyone who likes pop culture will be able to learn something from this book. However, the writing style can be a bit chaotic, though she links it to her ADHD.
The Lemon was a super fun satirical novel about the food industry with multiple POVs, ranging from social media personalities and bloggers to television stars. This book was yummy, bitter, indulgent, and binge-able (see what I did there?)
Calling Me Home will break your heart. An unlikely duo leaves Texas on a road trip bound for a funeral in Ohio. This story oscillates between the past (America during Segregation and before the Civil Rights Movement) and the present, as told by two narrators. Isabelle's and Robert's journey will warm your heart, then break your heart. The funeral will further destroy you. I love historical fiction that is emotionally moving, and this fits the bill.
A Perfect Vintage is your new summer read! I was lucky enough to get a Netgalley ARC. The author, Chelsea Fagan, is one of my favorite finance influencers, so when she debuted her foray into fiction, there was no question about whether I'd read it. Chelsea is classy, world, quirky, sassy, and smart; all of this shines through APV. This book involves the French countryside, vineyards, dazzling parties, and effervescent relationships, including a female friendship dynamic. You'll fly through this book, and just as quickly want to hop on a plane to France.

Final Reflection:
I'm doing a better job with DNF'ing books that feel laborious or do not spark joy.
I'm doing a better job of being selective and vetting the texts I read.
I'm juggling so many holds and can't wait for the next two months of reading!
